Production Crew & Roles
The Director - Natalia Cotonou
The role of a director part of a production company, is to carry out their vision by organising duties and roles to specific members to get the best final product. They administer the group as a strong leader. AS they are in charge, this means that they sort out a number of things such as Costumes, Props, Sound/Score notes, Documents that require signatures and other documents that need to be gathered in order to start and finish the production.
A director also has to make sure that the group as a whole is performing efficiently and is up to date with all work, keeping things neat, organised and on schedule. They must be responsible for anything that goes wrong during the pre-production and post production stages. Lastly, they must ensure that actors and actresses working for their production company are happy and comfortable.
The Cameraman - Keanon McSween
The role of the camerman is to ensure that the vision of the director is fulfilled and bought to life. They are also responsible for making the actors feel comfortable and content. The cameraman must also ensure that he is comfortable handling the filming equipment so that they are prepared for the filming actually commences. It is down to the cameraman to correctly capture and manage all footage that is recorded from each session. He must also consolidate with the director in order to see whether he has met her needs/requirements
The Editor - Marcus Stamp
The editor is responsible for collating and assembling the raw footage that is provided by the cameraman from the filming sessions. He must then create a fully finished and good standard final production, feasible enough to be release as a film by SupernovaShorts. The skills and ability of the editor can determine the quality and delivery of the final 5 minute production. Since the editor does not take part in the filming of the production, they stick by the director in order to help out and make the entire operation more efficient
The Sound Person - Marcus Stamp
The role of the sound person is to ensure all sound is ready for use and to also ensure that no sound is too high, low or of bad quality. They must create score notes before adding it into the library for the production, making sure it is relevant to the theme and subject of the production. Sound plays a large part in a production as it helps to set the mood or convey particular events, meaning that it will be one of the factors that determines the quality of the final product.
